Day 1 - Root to Crown: Establishing Endodontic Success

The endodontic restorative continuum is a comprehensive approach to restoring a tooth after endodontic treatment to optimum form and function, as the success of the root canal treatment is influenced by the quality of the restoration. Day 1 of this programme addresses breakthrough concepts and details the skills necessary for acquiring the expertise and confidence to perform the highest quality endodontics.
As a participant in our program, you will become familiar with the use of the “apex last” approach to safe and efficient canal shaping with reciprocating heat-treated ReciprocTM Blue nickel-titanium instrumentation. Glide Path creation will be discussed as a pre-emptive measure to ensure a safe pathway to the root canal apex.
We will also discuss predictable irrigation protocols using Passive Sonic Irrigation, vertical condensation of thermo-softened gutta-percha using The Continuous Wave of vertical condensation and Gutta CoreTM thermosoftened carriers.
During this exciting presentation, the attendee will receive hands-on experience in a workshop environment.

Day 2 - Restoring Endodontically Treated Teeth
Presented by Dr. Volinder Dhesi
This program focuses on the restorative considerations for endodontically treated teeth. The first part of this program will revolve around the placement of direct restorations. This will include clinical discussion around adhesives and composite placement.
There will be an overview of the various matrix systems including an in-depth discussion on sectional matrix, specifically, strategies around ideal placement in different clinical situations will be covered. This will include a hands-on component to practice doing a class II restoration using the techniques discussed. In addition, there will be a review of the use of bulk-fill composites compared to traditional incremental layered techniques.
The latter half of this program will revolve around indirect options including full coverage crowns and full coverage onlays. An overview of the material options will be discussed including zirconia and lithium disilicate. A common oversight by many dentists is the handling of these materials prior to cementing/bonding, and this will be discussed at length so dentists can maximize the clinical potential of the respective materials.
Lastly, there will be a detailed review of the different cementing and bonding materials available, and the specific techniques involved to get a successful clinical outcome.

Dr. Gary Glassman graduated from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry in 1984 and was awarded the James B. Willmott Scholarship, the Mosby Scholarship and the George Hare Endodontic Scholarship for proficiency in Endodontics. A graduate of the Endodontology Program at Temple University in 1987, he received the Louis I. Grossman Study Club Award for academic and clinical proficiency in Endodontics. In 2024 he was awarded the prestigious Award of Merit from the Ontario Dental Association in recognition for his exceptional contributions to the field of dentistry.
The author of numerous publications, Dr. Glassman lectures globally on endodontics, is on staff at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry in the graduate department of endodontics. As Adjunct Professor of Dentistry and Director of Endodontic Programming from 2010-2017, Gary helped develop the dental school curriculum for the Oral Health Science programme for the University of Technology, Kingston, Jamaica.
Gary is a fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, Fellow of the American College of Dentists, endodontic editor for Oral Health dental journal, Editorial Advisory Board for Inside Dentistry, Faculty Chair for DC Institute and Chief Dental Officer for dentalcorp Canada.
He maintains a private practice, Endodontic Specialists in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
