This course provides a comprehensive review of current restorative concepts for the management of posterior teeth, addressing both single-tooth treatments and quadrant-based approaches. Participants
will explore evidence-supported criteria for selecting between direct and indirect restorative modalities, with emphasis on understanding the how, when, and why behind each option.
The program includes an interactive hands-on workshop where attendees will design and fabricate a direct restoration with cuspal coverage, prepare posterior teeth for partial-coverage indirect restorations, and perform
adhesive bonding of an all-ceramic partial-coverage restoration.
Learning Objectives:
- Differentiate between direct and indirect restorative options for posterior teeth using evidence-based clinical criteria.
- Evaluate key factors influencing treatment selection, including remaining tooth structure, functionaldemands, occlusal considerations, isolation, and material properties.
- Apply decision-making frameworks to determine the most appropriate restorative approach for both single-tooth and quadrant dentistry scenarios.
- Design and execute a cuspal-coverage direct restoration following current restorative techniques and material protocols.
- Prepare posterior teeth for various partial-coverage indirect restorations, including onlays and overlays, with focus on preservation of tooth structure and restorative longevity.
- Perform adhesive bonding procedures for all-ceramic partial-coverage restorations, integrating proper surface treatment and cementation protocols.
- Incorporate clinical workflow strategies that enhance predictability, efficiency, and durability in everyday posterior restorative care.
