This course and workshop provide a comprehensive overview of the principles and protocols required to effectively treatment plan dental implant cases from straight forward to complex cases.
Emphasis is placed on patient medical evaluation, risk assessment, diagnosis, surgical, hard and soft tissue grafting, temporization and final implant prosthetic planning, interdisciplinary collaboration, and evidence-based decision-making.
Step by step systematic evaluation of various types of clinical cases as follows:
- Posterior single mandibular premolar and molar implant cases
- Posterior single maxillary premolar and molar implant cases
- Single maxillary advanced anterior aesthetic implant cases
- Quadrant multiple implant cases
- Full edentulous maxillary and mandibular removable over denture cases
- Full edentulous maxillary and mandibular fixed implant cases
Course Objectives:
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Understand the biological, anatomical, risk factors and systemic considerations in implant treatment planning.
- Evaluate hard and soft tissue conditions for implant recipient sites that are formulated by prosthetic driven implant treatment plans.
- Select appropriate implant numbers, diameter and length sizes, and three dimensionally correct positions with various surgical guides.

Dr. Mark Lin graduated Prosthodontics from the University of Toronto. He received his dental degree from University of Detroit Mercy. In addition, he completed a one-year General Practice Residency program at the Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton Ohio. He serves as an associate in dentistry at the University of Toronto as a surgical demonstrator in the postgraduate Periodontics discipline, staff at the Implant Prosthodontic Unit (IPU) and surgical / prosthodontic demonstrator in the graduate Prosthodontics discipline. He is currently an Editorial Board Member for Prosthodontics in the Oral Health journal. He also serves as an expert consultant for the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO). He is a Fellow and Diplomate with the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (I.C.O.I). He is an Associate fellow and Fellow with the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (A.A.I.D.) and faculty with the Asia maxicourse Implant Residency program. He is also a graduate and Fellow with the Misch Implant Institute. Finally, he is a Diplomate with the American Board of Oral Implantology / Implant Dentistry (A.B.O.I.). he is a faculty member with the International Team for Implantology (ITI) in Canada and co-director of the University of Toronto's Aesthetics residency program.
