Now, more than ever, adult patients are seeking straight, white teeth. Establishing and maintaining a clear aligner program in a flourishing restorative practice can meet these patient needs and enhance the overall success of any practice. This program will outline the steps required to establish and grow this aspect of general dental practice. Emphasis will be placed of how to identify restorative cases which would greatly benefit from clear aligner therapy prior to restorative dentistry. Additionally, several aligner options will be discussed. Basic mechanics of tooth movement and attachment selection, type and optimization will be reviewed.
At the completion of this program, clinicians will:
• Understand the steps required to add clear aligner therapy to any general dental practice;
• Learn communication skills for the entire team that helps promote this treatment option to all patients;
• Understand which restorative cases would benefit significantly from clear aligner therapy;
• Learn the subtle differences between many of the systems available in today’s marketplace;
• Learn how to manage clinical cases to maximize clinical results and shorten treatment time with various attachment designs and placement modalities.
