The Journées dentaires internationales du Québec (JDIQ) acknowledges the importance of protecting privacy and confidentiality of personal information.
In the course of its activities, in order to provide you with the highest quality experience and services, JDIQ collects personal information about participants in JDIQ and users of its website, mobile application, or digital kiosks, which can identify them, through technological means or verbal or written communications.

A piece of personal information, on its own or combined with other information, can directly or indirectly identify, locate, or profile you.

Thus, in accordance with the Act respecting Access to documents held by public bodies and the Protection of personal information , https://www.legisquebec.gouv.qc.ca/en/document/cs/p-39.1 , JDIQ has established a Privacy Policy based on the following four principles:

  • Your consent to the collection, use, and sharing of your personal information by JDIQ.
  • Our responsibilities regarding security and confidentiality protection of your personal information.
  • Our transparency about our practices and obligations in this regard

Collection and use of personal information

JDIQ is committed to collecting only necessary personal information. In certain circumstances, specific consent from you may be required, and in all cases, details are provided about the process followed to collect them.

Personal information about you is collected directly from you through various means, such as subscribing to the newsletter, participating in surveys or contests, and cookies during browsing on JDIQ’s website.

Information is also collected when you fill out the “optional” or “mandatory” fields of an online form or questionnaire on JDIQ’s website. The information collected is transmitted to the JDIQ team via a secure connection, the URL of which appears in the address bar starting with https://.

The management of personal information entered in the JDIQ registration form is handled by Showcare,
a partner of JDIQ, which ensures the protection of your information under its own privacy policy, available online at https://www.showcare.com/privacy-policy/ .

Finally, your personal information may be communicated verbally or in writing to JDIQ personnel. In this regard, considering that the security of email communications can easily be compromised, JDIQ recommends not to communicate your personal information by email unless your data is protected by encryption.

Consent to the use of personal information

Personal information collected by JDIQ is used to provide you with quality services, respond to your requests, personalize your experience, and inform you about its activities.

JDIQ commits not to use your data for purposes other than those for which they were collected and when your information is required to be specified:

Categories of personal information

  • Identification information: name, first name, postal address, email address, phone number, and professional title.
  • Credit information: cardholder’s name, card number, expiration date, and validation code.
  • Technical or digital information: IP address, date and time of connection to the website, pages visited, and actions taken on the site.

Sharing of personal information with third parties

For logistical purposes related to events and in cases specifically provided for by this Act, certain personal information may be shared with third parties, service providers, or partners of JDIQ. In such circumstances, information is communicated securely, in compliance with the Act, and only when contracts with these third parties include clauses offering specific guarantees regarding the confidentiality and protection of your personal information.

In some circumstances, sharing your personal information with third parties may require your consent. However, and in accordance with the Act, your consent is not required when the communication is necessary for the performance of a service contract concluded by JDIQ with suppliers and partners, exclusively to enable them to provide you with the agreed services, namely:

  • suppliers for processing reservations and registrations for JDIQ activities;
  • suppliers for processing payments related to registrations for JDIQ activities;
  • suppliers for managing communications, emails, and cookies on the JDIQ platform;
  • IT processing services and product providers;
  • cloud computing, web hosting, and data processing services.

Cookies

Cookies are small files stored by a server on your device (phone/computer) when you browse a website. These files contain data that servers can automatically use when you visit the same domain later.
