Sharpening dental hygiene instruments is such an important skill that we must master as dental hygienists. A skill that many struggle with.

In this hands-on workshop you will learn how to achieve a sharp cutting edge every time with a quick and easy method!

Following the sharpening portion of this workshop, you will be introduced to a variety of new instruments.

You will also learn how to streamline your cassettes based on the Classifications for Periodontal and Peri-Implant Diseases and Conditions. Using this classification system allows us to take into consideration root morphology and the anatomical considerations that accompany advanced cases.

Be prepared to get re-engaged and transform how you are currently practicing!

Learning Objectives:

  1. Learn an efficient and effective sharpening technique to achieve maximum sharpness and longevity.
  2. Review the intentional design and function of advanced instruments.
  3. Review basic root morphology and the impact this has on instrument selection and technique.
  4. Create unique cassettes based on the anatomical needs of your client.
